The Palestinian health ministry in the Gaza Strip has warned that its stock of dialysis solutions is going to run out of its stores within three days.

The ministry appealed in a statement on Tuesday to all human rights groups, Red Cross, Arab League, the organization of Islamic conference and all living consciences to demand the immediate opening of all crossings to allow entry of those solutions and to maintain the dialysis machines.

It said that the Israeli siege was having its toll on the health sector in the Strip and threatening the lives of tens of patients in intensive care units.

The ministry said that more than 600 Palestinians are treated for kidney failure and have weekly dialysis sessions including 200 children.

It recalled that it previously reduced the dialysis sessions for each patient from three to twice weekly, stressing that all dialysis machines would come to complete halt if no solutions were allowed into Gaza.
