Sectarian murder spree continues: 11 more victims found dumped around
Baghdad Sunday.
In a
dispatch posted at 10:53pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Aswat
al-'Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N.
Development Agency, reported that the Iraqi puppet police had retrieved
the bodies of 11 more victims of sectarian murder that had been dumped
in various parts of Baghdad in the previous 24 hours.
Aswat al-'Iraq reported a source in the
puppet "Interior Ministry" as saying that all the victims had been shot
to death.
US
admits three more Americans killed last week.
In a
dispatch posted at 9:20pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Association of
Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military had
admitted the deaths of three more US troops since Wednesday, 22 August.
One
American announcement said that a US soldier had been killed in the area
of Abu Ghurayb on Wednesday, 22 August. A second US statement said that
two other soldiers had died in Baghdad on Thursday, 23 August as a
result of wounds he received from a bomb explosion.
"Brigades of the 1920 Revolution" Resistance Organization denies reports
of cooperation with Americans in Diyala Province.
In a
dispatch posted at 9:31am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance organization, the
Brigades of the 1920 Revolution, denied reports that its forces had
joined US and puppet regime troops in the battle against the al-Qa'idah
organization in Diyala Province.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the 1920
Brigades issued a statement in which they said that they have no units
in Diyala Province, and that the units that call themselves the Brigades
of the 1920 Revolution in Diyala Province had split off from the real
organization and formed a new group called "the Hamas of Iraq." The
1920 Brigades said that, accordingly, the Iraqi Hamas would be the
organization that would have to speak for the activity being carried on
in the name of the organization in Diyala.
The
clarification came in response to claims made by US military spokesmen
who had told the press that the 1920 Brigades had "played a role" in
providing intelligence to US and Iraqi puppet regime forces in their
recent operations against al-Qa'idah in the province east of Baghdad.
In
their Sunday statement, the 1920 Brigades said that the organization to
which the Americans referred had become the Iraqi Hamas organization and
was no longer associated with the 1920 Brigades.

In a
dispatch posted at 10:17pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that US aircraft blasted a house in Samarra’,
120km north of Baghdad on Sunday, killing five children and two women.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the
Americans claimed they were chasing "gunmen" when their aircraft
destroyed the house and said they had no knowledge about any civilians
being in the home.
Sa'dun Muhammad a puppet police officer in Samarra’ General Hospital
said that the hospital had received the bodies of five children and two
women killed in the American attack. Three more children and one more
woman were among the eight other people wounded in the air raid.

Qarah Tabbah.
US
helicopters kill four puppet policemen in rocket attack on police
station in Qarah Tabbah Sunday morning.
In a
dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that US helicopters rocketed the puppet police
station in Qarah Tabbah, 130km northeast of Baghdad on Sunday morning.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported one eyewitness
in Qarah Tabbah as saying that American helicopters blasted the puppet
police station in the town, killing four and wounding 11 more puppet
policemen by preliminary count.
The
witness said that the helicopters fired more several rockets into the
police station, totally destroying the building, which collapsed on the
puppet policemen inside. He said that bodies were still buried under
the rubble but that already four corpses had been dug out and 11 more
wounded victims recovered.
Another witness said, "we saw two American helicopters fire rockets at
the building belonging to the police. When we approached the
headquarters we found that it had been completely demolished." He said
that they had recovered the bodies of four dead puppet policemen and
more than 11 wounded, most of them severely injured.
The
reports gave no indication as to whether the US strike had been a
mistake or why the Americans had blasted the puppet police station –
supposedly an installation supportive of the US occupation and its
puppet regime.
