In the following article, the defunct BCCI, Bank of Commerce and Credit, or, Crooks and Criminals, International, is referenced. Background on BCCI is critical and/or helpful to the understanding the present financial connections between Pakistan, UAE and the US, since the present is a continuum of the past, "Abu Dhabi and Citigroup: What Next".
In addition to all other information I've had on previous blogs, available publicly everywhere, regarding Dubai, the UAE, the Middle East bubble, another nail in the coffin, Dubai is building an LNG market and terminal beginning early 2008, and, in case you still can't put two and two together, the worlds first "LNG exchange and futures contract"
Now, for the suckers and idiots who remain in willful and blissful denial, the following, regarding Maliki and Iraq "federalism," or, separatism, www.arablinks.blogspot.com/2007/11/maliki-under-control-leading-iraq-to-us.html.
Let's set the record straight, again, for those in blissful denial. Secretary of State, Condi Rice, IS to all intents and purposes, our current American President, the "decision maker," replacing both Cheney and Rumsfeld regarding international affairs in our present caretaker government. Forget about Bush. He's out to lunch. I'm always amused when I watch TV, ocassionally, and see one or another international event with Condi Rice standing in the background, her eyes and gaze transfixed on Bush, attentively watching her pupil/student/child, I assume, waiting to see if her coaching has worked and he remembers his lines, or, I guess, hanging around just in in case he stumbles and she has to finesse the situation. Mommy is nearby to take care of Bush's bruises, kiss everybody and make up.
In an another apogee of hypocrisy, irony, nausea, willful and intentional denial, the KRG calls for papers on a Genocide conference!!!
On the preceeding note, one can count on our psuedo-Left to support this garbage. That's why they exist and what they're paid so well to do and why they have a career.
In addition, the UN has just opened another office in Erbil, Kurdistan, and Lukoil (partnered with ConoccoPhillips), amongst others, like China, is busy negotiationing with the KRG. Negotiation and contracts equals recognition, of course. Iraq's piece de resistance, its central government, is still battling with its other piece de resistance, the KRG, over Kirkuk and their respective authorities to determine oil contracts.
Meanwhile, a few side notes on some domestic issues that appear to be receiving alot of attention. Ron Paul's Presidential campaign in the Republican Party in the US appears to be getting alot of hoopla, recently. I regard, or, categorize both Ron Paul's campaign in the Republican Party and Dennis Kucinich in the Democratic Party, as ersatz campaigns. First, Ron Paul has declared he will NOT bolt the Republican Party and form an independent party. Next, Ron Paul, altho he sounds iconoclastic regarding foreign policy, he is nonetheless a laissez-faire capitalist and his domestic program, and SOME aspects of his foreign one, also, would throw us all back to the dark ages, giving up every little crumb and morsel of progress that has been eked out by the working class over the past century. Consequently, Ron Paul is not a serious opposition candidate. If he were, he would build an independent and broad based alliance, coalition and platform by addressing the above, something he could easily do, but, does not. He's emminently unelectable as a consequence. That is why I consider Paul's campaign an ersatz one. Likewise, Kucinich is another mixed bag. While Kucinich supports single payer health care and opposition to Iraq funding, nontheless, he, too, nuances his position on Iraq and will/does support "international peacekeeping" in Iraq, he was a co-sponsor of the Baltic Caucus, which, so far, he has not denied, he voted for the Aremian resolution, and, in addition, he is NOT actively building a broader support base and movement for his campaign. So, I regard Kucinich's Presidential campaign equally as ersatz as Paul's campaign. There are more complex analyses one can make, but, in a nutshell, this is the simplest one. Much ado about nothing. Which is why I spend no time on it, if possible.
One more not inconsequential fact for those following events closely in Venezuela. There's much written and said about it, so, I do not need to regurgitate information readily available. However, an additional factor not generally highlighted as to why the US is so opposed to Venezuela's Chavez led government. Chavez has a plan to build an oil pipeline with/across Colombia in order to export to China. Contrary to mythological explanations of scarcity, shortages, prices, peak oil and who supplies the US with oil, the US gets most of its oil both from itself, obviously, along with its two neighbors, Mexico and Canada, some coming from elsewhere, like Venezeula, for example, approximately 10%, I believe, and Africa. The loss of Venezuelan oil can be compensated. But, it's the loss of market share as a supplier for Europe, China, perhaps India, as well, that is THE issue, THE prize, THE economic bonanza. It also a competitor, like all state companies, and involves potential loss of systemic control over pricing, energy dollar reinvestment/recycling, market share, etc, like issues surrounding OPEC. Mononpoly over the system is critical to maintain expansion, profitability and recycled investment funds. It's what keeps the economic bubble afloat. So...
