Iraqi Al-Madar weekly reported the following:

Sources close to Muqtada al-Sadr reported that he is secretly and urgently hospitalized in Tehran, after an assassination attempt, mixing poison in his food, right now he constantly in coma, under supervision of Iranian doctors.

I really don’t know the authenticity of this report but later the report asks a very interesting question:

Sadrists local leaders in Iraq have no knowledge of this development to prevent confusion among the Movement……. but the question is; who is the legitimate heir of the Sadrist Movement? And could it be linked to the current divide within the Iranian institutions?

Not exactly confirming this news, Al-Qabas report today hints to something similar and refers to the conflict reports about Al-Sadr "resignation" letter [images of the letter 1, 2 ] and adding more details:

Sadr spokesman Salah al-Obeidi denies that Al-Sadr is absent from politics, stressed that the statement was misinterpreted.

The report adds this:

The fact is; Al-Sadr Movement and Mahdi Army are eliminated a time ago coincided with the elimination of Yamani Movement [Heaven Soldiers] and other Shiite groups…..

……According to sources told Al-Qabas that the elimination of Mahdi Army and Muqtada al-Sadr is done peacefully after a deal "the Iraqi government, the United States and Iran, resulted in Ahmadinejad’s visit to Iraq.

The efforts is to selectively persuade several Sadrists groups to hold their place in the political process.

The report links the events to the previous assassination report and came up with this conclusion:

The occupation authority in Iraq is still working on forming a Shiite "Awakening Councils" from the Sadrists – leftovers.
